Professional Scrum Master II

The Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) course is designed with fresh perspectives and innovative interaction techniques that facilitate learning about areas critical to Scrum Master success. You will explore how the principles and values of Scrum help guide you in the decisions you make to create an environment for agility to thrive.

The Scrum Master role is complex and requires the Scrum Master to be able to effectively apply various stances to the benefit of the team and organization:

• The Scrum Master as a Teacher
• The Scrum Master as a Coach & Mentor
• The Scrum Master as a Facilitator
• The Scrum Master as a Change Agent

Throughout the class, your Professional Scrum Trainer will provide stories, exercises, facilitation techniques (such as “Liberating Structures”), and resources to help Scrum Masters enable agility, value delivery, and improved team health. Additionally, you can apply the collaboration techniques used throughout the class in your teams and Scrum Master communities.

Unlike the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) course which focuses on how to use Scrum, the Scrum framework and the role of the Scrum Master, PSM II is an advanced course that dives deeper into how a Scrum Master can improve your effectiveness in serving the Scrum Team, Product Owner and organization. Through innovative interactions, you will explore related practices and skills to enable the right types of conversations and apply them to become a better Scrum Master.

This highly interactive class is delivered virtually over four half-day sessions, which our students love! Our half-day sessions allow you to balance the course with your work, while enabling high focus and deep learning during class time.

The Professional Scrum Master II course is an advanced course specifically designed for experienced Scrum Masters who have a thorough understanding of the Scrum framework.  It is particularly beneficial for those people with at least one year of Scrum Master experience.

Students will be able to make the most of the class if they:

• Have been a Scrum Master for at least a year; the content assumes a solid understanding of the fundamentals of Scrum
• Have re-read and studied the Scrum Guide
• Have taken the Scrum Open (free online assessment)
• Have read one of the Scrum books
• Want to expand their capabilities as a Scrum Master, to the benefit of their organization

All participants completing the Professional Scrum Master II course will receive a password to attempt the Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) assessment, included in the cost of the course. If you attend this Scrum.org class and attempt the PSM II certification assessment within 14 days but do not achieve a score of at least 85% you will be granted a 2nd attempt at no cost.

You are also entitled to a 40% discount on the Professional Scrum Master III (PSM III) assessment.

These industry-recognized PSM certifications require a minimum passing score.
